Albania last in Europe for "online" shopping

Albania is the last country in Europe for online shopping, even though the pandemic isolated people for almost two years, giving businesses an opportunity to expand online commerce.

But according to Eurostat statistics for 2012, Albania ranks last with 17 percent of the population having made at least one online purchase throughout the year.

The United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Norway and Sweden dominate at the top. In almost all areas of these countries, more than 85% of the population ordered something online. The highest percentage in Europe is in London with 96%.

Southeastern Europe has the lowest percentages. For most areas, less than half the population ordered something online in the last 12 months.
