Scientists in Japan discover method that kills cancer cells, an important step

Scientists in Japan have discovered a method that allows them to use DNA to kill cancer cells.

This new method targets breast cancer, cervical cancer and malignant melanoma using a DNA pair injected into the cancer cells.

Testing the method in mice, the cancer-killing DNA binds to microRNA, which is produced in various types of cancer. This in turn creates an immune response, which eventually destroys the cancer cells.

The study, conducted in Japan, was published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, and the scientists involved in the study believe it could be the beginning of an important step in the treatment of cancer.

The findings are important because using DNA and RNA to treat cancer can be particularly difficult as it takes a lot of work for the molecules to tell the difference between healthy cells and those that are cancerous.

A study author, Professor Akimitsu Okamoto of the University of Tokyo, said: "The results of this study are good news for doctors, drug discovery researchers and cancer patients, as we believe it will enable them to news for the development of medications and medication policies."
