Crohn's is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, named after the American gastroenterologist Baril B. Kron, who in 1932 described this, then a new disorder

There is still no cure and much research is being done to better understand this disease and determine its cause.

The symptoms of this disease are not the same: some are milder and some more severe and can significantly affect the ability to perform daily tasks.

There are several different types of Crohn's disease, depending on which part of the digestive tract is affected:

Ilekolit - is the most common type and up to 50% of people suffering from Crohn's disease have ilekolit. This form affects and affects the lower part of the small intestine and the large intestine.

Ileitis - is the second most common type of this disease. This form affects only the lower part of the small intestine and about 35% of people with Crohn's disease have this type.

Crohn's granulomatous colitis  - affects only the colon. This type of disease is often confused with ulcerative colitis and the difference is that Crohn in this case does not affect the rectum, while affecting ulcerative colitis.

Crohn's gastroduodenal disease  - is a rare form of the disease and affects the stomach and the first part of the small intestine.

Jejunoileitis - is also a rare form of Crohn's disease and affects the middle and longer part of the small intestine.

Perianal disease  - appears on the outside of the anal opening and occurs in about 30% of patients with Crohn's disease.

Factors influencing the development of this disease:

This disease occurs equally in men and women. The exact cause is not yet known, but there are several factors that affect its development:

▪ Genetics
▪ Environment and lifestyle (stress and diet)
▪ Age of the patient
▪ Smoking

The symptoms are numerous when it comes to this disease and in most cases they develop gradually, but the most common are:

▪ Diarrhea
e Abdominal cramps
me Bloody stools
▪ Inflammation of the mucosa of the colon (as in ulcerative colitis)
▪ Fever
▪ Unconsciousness
▪ Loss of appetite
▪ Weight loss
▪ Ability in the mouth
▪ Feeling as if the intestines are not empty enough emptying
▪ Frequent need for bowel movements

If you have any of these symptoms, it does not automatically mean that you have Crohn's disease, as they may be a sign of other health conditions, but everyone will recommend a doctor to go for examination.
