Meghan Markle's confession: In the royal family I was forced to...

Meghan Markle has made another scathing comment about the royal family, stating that she couldn't be herself in the United Kingdom. In an interview with Bloomberg Originals, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about a period when she felt inauthentic.

The mother of two, who lives in a luxury £12 million villa in Montecito and learns French on Duolingo in the evenings, was asked if she finds it difficult to seem approachable to the public.

" I don't have a problem with it, I'm just being myself. I guess it was different a few years ago, when I couldn't be so loud and I always had to wear skin-colored socks. To be honest, that's not my style at all. I hadn't seen socks like that since the '80s movies."

"I know it's a simple example, but it's indicative of what it means to feel comfortable with yourself, to dress how you want, to tell the truth, and to show up in spaces where you can be truly authentic," she said.

Meghan added that she no longer feels the need to prove anything to anyone.

"I think our character, what we are at our core, doesn't change. But the behaviors, habits and roles we take on in life can bring out the best or the worst in people. I'm just me ," Meghan Markle said.
