Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has canceled planned concerts in Poland amid anger over his stance on Russia's war against Ukraine, Polish media reported Saturday.

An official at the Tauron Arena in Krakow, where Waters had planned to play two concerts in April, said they would no longer be held.

"Roger Waters' manager decided to withdraw ... without giving any reason," Tauron Arena KrakoW's Lukasz Pytko said on Saturday in comments carried by Polish media.

The website for Waters' "This Is Not a Drill" concert tour no longer lists the Krakow concerts previously scheduled for April 21 and 22.

City councilors in Krakow are expected to vote next week on a proposal to name Waters persona non grata, expressing "outrage" at the musician's stance on the war in Ukraine.

Waters wrote an open letter to Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska earlier this month in which he blamed "extreme nationalists" in Ukraine for "setting the country on the path to this catastrophic war."

"Unfortunately, your husband (President Volodymyr Zelenskyy) agreed with those totalitarian, anti-democratic dismissals of the will of the Ukrainian people, and the forces of extreme nationalism that were hidden, malicious, in the shadows have ruled Ukraine ever since," Waters said.

Waters has also criticized the West for supplying Ukraine with weapons, blaming Washington in particular, and has also criticized NATO, accusing it of provoking Russia.

Just a week before the Kremlin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in late February, Waters told state-funded Russian media outlet RT that warnings of impending war were propaganda aimed at demonizing Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's claim that Ukraine was run by far-right nationalists and "neo-Nazis" is one of the main justifications for Moscow's all-out invasion of its western neighbor, highlighted in Putin's speech days before February 24.
