Rene Rexhepi, the most famous Albanian chef in the world, has announced that soon his restaurant "Noma" will be closed.
"Noma", which is located in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, became a symbol of world gastronomy when it was voted the best restaurant in the world for several years.
But his boss, Rene Rexhepi, says that this is the last year of work, since in 2024, "Noma" will say "goodbye" to customers. The reason is the high pace of work and unaffordable costs.
Executives announced that the business will close its doors next year and reopen as a "cooking school."
"To continue being Noma, we have to change," says Noma's owner, Rene Rexhepi, in an announcement made on the restaurant's website.
Rene Rexhepi thinks that he should reorganize the work space as well as the staff. "It is not affordable. The sector needs to be repaired", said Rexhepi, hoping that after a few years it can be restored again.
René Redzepi or (Rexhepi) is of Albanian origin. His father is an Albanian from North Macedonia, while his mother is Danish.
At Noma, a meal usually costs at least $500 per person.
Rexhepi also said that starting from 2025, Noma will become a cooking school and sell products online. Also, he announced that the restaurant will have "pop-ups" around the world.

"Customer service will always be a part of us, but being a restaurant is no longer one that characterizes us."
Rexhepi opened Noma in Copenhagen in 2003 and over time, the restaurant became a crown jewel in the gastronomy sector. As Noma's dishes became more and more popular, it became more and more impossible to get a reservation at this restaurant.
