After login problems, Instagram provides explanations to users

Instagram announced Monday that it had fixed a software bug that prevented thousands of users from logging into the platform for about eight hours and caused accounts to be suspended.

"We've fixed this bug now, it was causing people in different parts of the world to have problems accessing their accounts and it caused a temporary change in follower count for some," the platform announced via a post on Twitter.

Some users reported seeing a message that they were blocked, but were still able to stay on the platform. Others who posted on Twitter said they did not have access to this social network, writes Euronews.com.

The problem with Instagram came less than a week after another Meta platform, WhatsApp, suffered an outage that prevented users around the world from sending and receiving messages.
