The car collection of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah , valued at around $5 billion and consisting of over 7,000 cars, is often considered the largest private car collection in the world.

The collection features Bentleys, Ferraris, BMWs and a custom-made McLaren F1 LM, which Ralph Lauren reportedly also bought, according to the South China Morning Post.

Automotive website CarBuzz reports that this royal collection is valued at $5 billion.

According to a previous report by The Sun, the Sultan's collection notably includes around 600 Rolls-Royces, 450 Ferraris and 380 Bentleys.

Among the highlights in the Sultan's collection are a unique Bentley Dominator SUV worth around $80 million, a Porsche 911 with Horizon Blue paint and an X88 power package, a 24-carat gold-plated Silver Spur II and other models from prestigious manufacturers such as Aston Martin, McLaren and Bugatti.

The Sultan bought a gold-plated Rolls-Royce for the wedding of his daughter, Princess Majededah, in 2007. This raises curiosity about his plans for the recent 10-day wedding of his 10th son, Prince Mateen.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, 78, ascended the throne in 1967 after his father abdicated. His coronation took place the following year and he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, whose protectorate Brunei was until 1984.

An India Times report says the Sultan is among the richest royals in the world, with a fortune estimated at $30 billion as of 2022.
