In which country and why did Ferrari sales increase?

Ferrari's sales in Taiwan have doubled in the past four years, boosted by the growing wealth of the country's chip entrepreneurs and the return of capital as global supply chains diversify away from China.

Ferrari's chief executive said demand in Taiwan is growing faster than in China or Hong Kong due to increased sales of supercars to the country's increasingly affluent citizens. He pointed out that many new customers are being won over the past four years, adding that China is growing, but less than Taiwan. There are many people in Taiwan who make a lot of money.

Ferrari last month reported record annual profits, boosted by customers paying for accessories and personalized services. Although most sales are made in Europe and the US, the automaker said deliveries to mainland China and Taiwan rose from 5% of the total in 2020 to nearly 11%.

Ferrari is benefiting from the increase in private wealth that has made the island the fifth richest country in the world, at 141,600 euros per capita. The rise of the wealthy is partly due to a booming semiconductor industry, a sector dominated by Taiwan.
