Madonna sparked a backlash when she shared AI-generated photos of herself and Pope Francis on Instagram Story on Friday evening, December 13, showing her and Pope Francis in an intimate, tender moment.

The first photo showed the Pope hugging the 66-year-old singer from the side, with a big smile on his face and his nose touching hers.

"Coming into the weekend like..." she captioned the photo.

The second image showed Madonna in a lace corset, and Pope Francis appeared to be reaching for a kiss as he wrapped one arm around her waist.

"I feel good when I see you..." she captioned the second photo.

Many people reacted on social media to blast the pop star for the "ridiculously disrespectful" images.

Another person wrote via X/Twitter that the "Like a Prayer" singer's post was "slanderous," while a third person commented: "This is just weird as far as it goes...she's lost it."

"Disgusting! I pray her soul is saved!" another account emphasized.

"You have to be sick to do something like that," "Madonna has always been strange," "She is satanic," "She should bathe in holy water," were some of the many negative comments that her posts provoked.
