The fashion world gathered in New York City for the annual Met Gala evening, where the theme was a tribute to the late icon Karl Lagerfeld.

In this way, the theme was as much pearls, collars and black and white clothing as possible.

Lagerfeld's cat also "appeared" on the carpet.

In total there were 400 guests, from Priyanka Chopra, the Kardashian sisters, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, David Byrne, Rita Ora and her husband Taika Waititi, without a doubt all the artists did their best. Among the best dressed stars are the 2 Albanians, Rita Ora and Dua Lipa.

Lagerfeld served as Chanel's creative director from 1983 until his death — and many Met Gala attendees chose to wear classic outfits from the French fashion house in his honor. He died at the age of 85 in 2019.
