The fight with cancer at the age of 29, Luna Methasan's difficult moment: I
Luna and Defrim Methasani

The story of losing her aunt at the age of 29 to cancer, and then her own illness last year, has taught Luna Methasan the essential importance of health. The eldest daughter of journalist Dëfrim Methasani faced cancer last year, a battle that she has already won.

During her confession for "There's a Message for You" from "E Diela Shqiptare", Luna remembers well the difficult moment of the diagnosis. The doctors told him dryly that the condition was critical, but it was even more difficult for him to give courage to his parents.

Luna Methasani : As I mentioned, my parents and grandparents lost a daughter at the age of 29 and I was exactly 29 when I was diagnosed. When I asked the doctor, he told me that "it's not genetic and it doesn't matter if it's genetic or not, this was your fate".

Ardit Gjebrea: Did the doctors show it?

Luna Methasani : Yes, they told me and I was in front of the doctor, in the room with him, with both parents, and he said directly to my face: "I'm very sorry, but you have been diagnosed with cancer. We urgently need to start chemotherapy, but before that we have to do an operation". More than myself Ardi, believe me, my parents were hurting, my grandparents were hurting and I had no choice but to keep being very strong because why not, I could make it and as you can see I'm here, i came out

Luna adds that this disease is strongly related to the psychological side of man. Doctors never guarantee the chances of survival, as psychological strength and determination play an essential role in the fight against it.

Luna Methasani: Man becomes strong.

Ardit Gjebrea: Where do you find it?

Luna Methasani: Within myself. I stopped for a moment and thought "what choice do I have now?" The moment the doctor told us, my mom ran out of the doctor's room crying. It hurt my soul. Dad couldn't speak because of the tears, he couldn't react, he was sobbing. I believe that the most difficult moment was when I wiped their tears and gave them courage when I had just found out, not even a minute had passed from the moment I found out that I was sick and I told them "don't be sad , you were born a strong warrior and I will succeed. There are many cases where they succeeded". That's why I wanted to give a message of strength to all those who may be facing or far from being in such a situation, there is always light at the end of the tunnel, there is always hope because man is very strong.

Ardit Gjebrea : I want to come and hug you!

Luna Methasani: Hej babito!

So today I want to say thank you for existing for being my best friend, you are the energy and strength that all of us, especially the family need to have you... thanks to you, thanks to God and thanks to the doctors I am here today, sitting in front of you saying that I love you endlessly. Even now that you have become a grandfather, you have become very entertaining, you know how to tell very beautiful imaginary stories with Matias and Nina because at least with them you are filling that time that due to all your many commitments and the great sacrifices you have done in life you couldn't hold us in your arms because you left us asleep and found us asleep, but here we are today because you educated us to be good people, people of faith, grateful people and the greatest gratitude goes to you today I saw you like mountains and I love you so much!
