"Little Albania" has been included in the official map of immigrant enclaves in New York, published by the mayor's office led by Zohran Mamdani, ranking among the neighborhoods that represent ethnic communities that have left their mark on the history and cultural identity of the American metropolis.

The map identifies 30 areas in the five boroughs of New York, including “Little Albania” in the Bronx, one of the most important centers of the Albanian community in the U.S. For decades, this area has become a landmark for Albanians, with businesses, restaurants, and activities that preserve Albanian traditions and culture.

However, the publication of the map has caused controversy, as it is missing "Little Italy", one of the most iconic neighborhoods of Italian immigration in the United States.

Representatives of the Italian-American community and local politicians have called the exclusion a grave mistake, emphasizing that the historical contribution of Italian immigrants to the development of New York cannot be overlooked, reports the New York Post.
