The famous Albanian singer, Eleni Foureira, has spoken openly about the fears she had at the beginning of her career, related to her origins.
In an interview for "The 2Night Show," she explained why she didn't reveal to the audience that she was Albanian from the beginning. Eleni admitted that she grew up with the fear that she wouldn't have the same opportunities because of her origin.
"When you grow up, this becomes one with you and you have a fear of it. You say 'if I say I'm from Albania, I don't think I'll be given the same equal opportunities'.
This is the reality. In reality, it's not my fault. My mother would pick me up, cry... she would say 'my child, what have they done to you? Why? You didn't do anything...'.
"Arsenakos would take me and say 'I don't care at all, do what you do best' and that's what I did. In the end, people didn't care and they brought me to where I am," the singer said.
Focusing then on her partner, she described that it was the first time she saw Alberto Botia about ten years ago, explaining that she did not even know his professional status.
Eleni Foureira commented that her partner, who at the time played for Olympiacos, had gone to have fun at the store where the singer was performing after the team's victory. Then, as she admitted, she was thrilled by his appearance. Later, the artist revealed that the footballer had sent her a message on social networks, idolizing her.
"They were at Olympiacos and they won and they came to the bar because they had won. Then Pantelis Touountzis came, who had noticed and was shocked. He was telling me, but I was singing and I didn't understand. When I saw him I said: 'How handsome is this guy, is he an actor? A model?'. He stayed there, nothing happened. He was throwing flowers, but I said 'go ahead, throw them yourself'. I'm not much of a flower person. When I left I said 'hey guys, who is this handsome guy?'. I don't know how it came to me, and I went to the messages of those I don't follow on Instagram and he was the first to write to me and say 'it was extraordinary, fantastic, I was at the bar, I saw you, what they say about you is true'. I replied, I'm not rude. That's how it started, we were talking, we went out. In November we will be 10 years old," she said.
