Joni Proni, Liam Payne's former bodyguard, is shocked by the news of the former One Direction star's passing.

For 14 years as his bodyguard, Proni says exclusively in "Jetë Shqiptare" that he loved him as if he had his son and that he is still in shock from the news he received.

According to him, Liam was a closed person and that he had problems with alcohol, something for which he criticized him and even took it out of his hand so that he would not drink anymore.

"I was very shocked, although I did not expect good news from Liam. I've been shocked and upset with him lately. I've been with him for 14 years, drink destroys stone and I know Liam hasn't been too well lately. I don't blame Liam too much, but the people around him, because everyone says YES to everything even when you say "I want to die". When I was with him, I criticized him and stopped him from drinking alcohol, and took it out of his hand. I loved him as if he were my son, he was a wonderful boy", said Proni.

Proni blames his tragic end and his alcohol addiction on the local music industry, which he considers to be the most degenerate and negative people in the world.

"The music industry has the most degenerate people in the world. Everything negative that you see in the world is done by the music industry. The way you are treated, the servility, the way they do everything to please the artist. To me, Liam was a victim of the music industry. But if I had been with him, he would be alive today", said his former disgrace to "Jetë Albaniante" tearfully.

While recounting the last meeting with Liam, Proni considered the singer to be a wonderful, loving and very simple boy.

"For the last time I spoke at the beginning of July and for the last time I met him last year in December. Liam used to hide a lot of things and not show his problems, but I got a good grasp of him after knowing him since I was 16. He was the kindest man I ever knew and a man who would invite you home and treat you wonderfully. He was very affectionate with his mother and sister, very simple and he chose me at the beginning of 2011, because I started with him first, but then we became even more bodyguards", he said in RTSh.
