"Lost" for years, the disease that is tormenting Parashqevi Simaku

The great icon of Albanian music, Parashqevi Simaku, has been away from the public eye for years and very little is known about her.

But after leaving the USA, it is said that her life has become difficult in recent years and the Albanian state has never been interested in the health of one of the symbols of art, at a time when culture and music are increasingly being destroyed by pseudo-artists.

It was reported a few years ago that she suffered from facial paralysis, which affected her mouth, so she no longer performs on stage with her songs. Maybe she doesn't want for this reason, that the public will see her in a state where she can no longer sing. A singer of the stature of Parashqevi Simaku, however, is missing from the Albanian scene

After leaving for the US in the early 1990s, she returned very rarely, the last time more than two decades ago. Nothing has been known about one of Albania's iconic singers for years.
