The profile picture on social networks can be the window of your soul. So it is according to a group of researchers who have researched the connection between people's profile pictures and their personality traits.

According to the study, social media users can be grouped into one of 5 models for the model's personality traits - openness to experience, conscience, extraversion, acceptance and neuroticism - based solely on their profile picture.

For example, extroverts are more likely to have a profile picture with several faces on it. They are also likely to portray a newer image either through the use of a photograph from years ago or by posing with new people.

People open to new ideas or experiences. These people are likely to have other things in the picture besides the face profile, which reveals inconsistencies with what is expected.

Photos are also likely to be more aesthetically pleasing and use an artistic quality such as colorless photos. Users are often seen wearing glasses but not sunglasses, show less emotion and the face size ratio is usually larger than others. Very sexy images can show that the person has an inferiority complex. This happens to people who think they need to be more expressive or show more to compensate for the fact that they do not feel good enough about themselves.

The constant change of profile pictures may indicate that the person does not have a "strong identity and is quite insecure". Finally, using a photo with our partner as a profile photo means that we see our partner as part of our identity.

Also, people who experience anxiety tend to post more pictures than some other people.
