Are you one of those who rejoice when raindrops start falling from the sky? Do you like that on a rainy day, you cover yourself with a blanket and with a hot tea in hand, watch a good movie or read a book.
If so, you are part of a special group of people known as 'pluviophiles'. By definition, 'pluviophiles' are people who love rain. And if you're a 'pluviophile', not only do you know how to surrender to the rain when it's pouring, but chances are you're a generally pleasant and well-liked person.
Here are seven reasons why people who enjoy the rain are happier in life:
- They experience life more fully
People who love the rain are said to know how to experience even the smallest experiences. They describe the rain in vivid detail, and when the raindrops are on the ground they feel mesmerized, become even more interested in the world around them, and often change their appearance. They experience the rain at almost every point, and often come out with open arms and head high to greet the rain. They even know the taste of fresh drops, as they look up with open arms and welcome a cold drink from the clouds.
-They live the moments
Dr Matt Killingsworth, a happiness researcher, uses an app called "Track Your Happiness" in which people report their level of happiness during specific activities in real time. What he deduced from the survey is that there is a direct psychic connection between people who love rain and the natural process in reality. Such types are very functional and live in the moment. They 'sweat' a lot to achieve what they want and most of the time they are silent in that process.
-They are more confident in themselves
People who love the rain are actually proud of themselves. They are a bit of a cold guy, and anyone who tries to get inside them must be fiery or they will be depleted and depressed by what they find. Guys who love the rain with all their being are people who believe in themselves more than anyone else, and for them there is never anything they have done wrong!
– They are 'resilient' in difficult times
'Pluviophiles' understand very well that there must be rain for flowers to grow. When things go wrong for them, then their actions are not those of people in panic and despair, on the contrary, they think that life always has slaps that should always be conveyed "this too shall pass." In fact, they know that challenges are necessary to seize the best opportunities. And they often say, after the rain there is always a rainbow.
– They know how to keep things in perspective
A true 'lover' of the rain never knows how to be afraid of things that are natural, those that come without our request and those that do not leave us dependent on us. They often compare different positions of their lives with raindrops which are understood not to be an apocalypse for humanity. They know that to truly see life, then one must understand the simple reality of life and put it into context. If you ever need someone to talk to and advise when you're not feeling well, find someone who loves the rain. They will always have answers to get them to work.
-They can see the beauty in sadness
Just as rain personifies purity and new life, rain lovers show appreciation for life, renewal of spirit and mood. Just as they don't get upset when it rains, but calmly spend the day, so they show themselves to be in life; people who always make something beautiful out of sad things.
- They know that life goes by quickly, think about improvements
Nothing makes a person forever memorable and desired than the way they leave memories behind. To think that life is short is not a tragedy, on the contrary, it is a way to understand that life should be lived in every moment of it. And such are the people who love the rain. They are always living in the moment, even when there is a lot of rain and storm outside, they use the time to think about where they have not been good with any of their relatives, and always find ways to improve it. The motto of people known as 'pluviophiles' is: "We only live once".
