A wedding that took place in Sanliurfa, Southeastern Anatolia, Turkey, a few days ago has gone viral. The bride was adorned with gold jewelry worth several kilograms to the point that she could not bear its weight, while guests competed with each other to throw money at her.

The grandson of former AKP MP in Sanliurfa, Zulfikar Izol, 26-year-old lawyer Kahraman Zulfikar Izol, and the granddaughter of Iraqi representative in Turkey, Mesut Barzani, 25-year-old lawyer Nazdar Barzani, united their lives with a magnificent wedding.

In addition to the former AKP deputy in the city, the wedding in Sanliurfa was attended by other powerful figures from the region, as well as thousands of guests. The guests gathered around the bride and groom and threw bundles of money at them, while servants collected the money they threw and put it in a box.

The wedding guests competed with each other to see who could throw the most money and covered the bride in kilograms of gold. The bride, who was wearing gold coins, a gold belt, a necklace, a diamond ring and a gold crown, was forced to sit down after a while due to the weight of the jewelry.

The wedding was officiated by the mayor of Siverek, Ali Murat Bucak. After the wedding, the Iraqi guests lined up to display the gold jewelry they had brought in special boxes.
