Israeli official: We were the ones who manipulated Iranian commanders into
Israeli attack on a target in Tehran, Iran

An Israeli security official told American television network Fox News that Israel managed to trick senior Iranian air force commanders into gathering for a meeting before launching the attack.

"We conducted specific activities to help us learn more about them and then used that information to influence their behavior," the official said. "We knew that would get them to the meeting - but more importantly, we knew how to keep them there."

The official added that the strikes were more successful than Israel had anticipated. According to the source, air defense systems and ballistic missiles that were intended to be used against Israel were targeted in advance.
