Zelensky, Putin invites him to talks for him, West asks for fighter jets

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked Vladimir Putin for direct talks as the only way to stop the war.

"We are not attacking Russia and we do not plan to attack it. What do you want from us? Leave our land alone," he said at a news conference.

"Sit down with me. Just not 30 metres away as with French President Emmanuel Macron," he said.

From the West, Zelensky requested fighter jets.

"If you don't have the power to close the skies and implement a no-fly zone over Ukraine, then give me planes," he said.

He warned the West that after Russia it will not stop in Ukraine.

"If we are no longer then, God keep us!, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia will be next," the Ukrainian president said.
