The Kosovo Police have announced that they have discovered a plantation with about 500 cannabis sativa plants in a village in the Gjilan region.

The operation was carried out by the Directorate for the Investigation of Narcotics Trafficking, Unit in Gjilan, in coordination with other security institutions. The plants were planted in four greenhouses and were in an advanced stage of development.

During the search, the police also confiscated a long gun and other evidence related to the case. Three suspects were arrested and, by decision of the prosecutor, were sent to detention for 48 hours.

The police announced that the destruction of narcotic plants will be carried out in coordination with the competent prosecutor's office.
