Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has made public the main conditions of Iran's latest peace proposal to the United States, according to the state news agency IRNA.
According to him, the Iranian proposal provides for: lifting sanctions on Tehran; unblocking frozen Iranian funds; ending the naval blockade on Iran; accelerated mediation by Pakistan, as a Pakistani minister is visiting Tehran; stopping the war on all fronts, including Lebanon; withdrawing US forces from areas near Iran; compensation for damages caused by the war.
According to a Pakistani source quoted by Reuters, Pakistan conveyed the new Iranian peace proposal to the United States a day ago. American media outlet Axios writes that Donald Trump is expected to hold a meeting with his national security team later to discuss possible military options.
However, during an event at the White House earlier, he himself declared that there had been a "very positive development" and said that they were very close to reaching an agreement that would leave Iran without nuclear weapons. Tehran has continued to deny allegations that it is seeking to create a nuclear weapon.
