Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić was accused of ordering the use of a special weapon during an anti-government student protest.
Suspicions arose after a car with a satellite-shaped accessory mounted on it was seen in front of the crowd in Belgrade, and for a moment, protesters began pushing each other in an attempt to get away from its glare.
According to reports, it was a previously unused weapon that emits acoustic waves towards protesters, making them feel unwell.
To refute the accusations, Vučić invited the Russian FSB to conduct an expertise.
And today, he received a negative response. Vučić appeared at a press conference where he said that the Russians concluded that this weapon was not used.
"This is the original in Russian. The original, in Russian, so you can see. What I have, you will also have on the page. This is in Serbian, I will read you the conclusion on the other side and then I will tell you what these people did. The conclusion is, based on the information received, so the FSB, the most famous service in the world, together with the FBI, but the FSB, do somewhat different work. The FSB is a service. They categorically state that no acoustic devices were used. Now I will tell you what they did. They analyzed, research was conducted in three directions. The first is the study of the technical characteristics of the LRAD sound emitters, so I will not read them all now, you will read them yourself. Which are owned by the Serbian police bodies, which the opposition forces stated that the authorities officially used to exert influence on civilians who participated in the rally, said Vučić, showing the documents," he declared.
He called all those who accused the government of using a sonic cannon liars, judging that the lie about the sonic weapon was premeditated as an attempt to "finally carry out a color revolution."
"Shame on you, you miserable liars, you wanted to harm your country and caused it a lot of damage," Vučić said.
