Egzon Bytyqi, who killed his 8-month pregnant wife and was himself injured, dies

Egzon Bytyqi, the suspect in the murder of his wife, Jetlira Foniqi, an event that occurred a few days ago in Kosovo, has passed away.

The serious incident occurred on August 23 in the village of Kërvasari, Malisheva. Bytyqi, suspected of the criminal offense of "Aggravated Murder", died a few days later.

The Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Gjakova region, Sheremet Elezaj, states that the suspect died on August 27, at around 5:15 PM.

"Investigative procedures regarding this case will continue in coordination with the competent prosecutor," Elezaj declared.

The murder of Jetlira Foniqi caused widespread reactions in Kosovo, while the case brought back into focus concerns about violence against women and serious cases of domestic violence.
