Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has confirmed that she intends to serve another term as president of Kosovo, announcing that after the formation of new institutions, she will begin talks with political parties to support her candidacy.

Osmani, in an interview with Radio Free Europe, said that the decision to elect the president belongs to the new Parliament, but stressed that, regardless of the result, she will continue her political engagement.

"I intend to continue my political engagement even if I am not elected president ," she said, as her term as President expires in April 2026.

The President announced that she will hold consultations with all Albanian parties, also referring to the citizen support that, according to her, is reflected in the polls.

"I will talk to all Albanian parties. We will have to sit down and discuss and see if they want to hear the will of the citizen, which is clear. In the vast majority of measurements, it is seen that somewhere around 81% of citizens want a second mandate for me. We will see if the deputies want a materialization of this will. If the deputies do not want and do not have the will, I will continue my political engagement," Osmani declared.

She reiterated that the process of electing the president will depend on the composition and decision-making of the new parliament, emphasizing that her engagement in the country's political life will not be interrupted.
