At least 100 passengers were injured on Saga Cruises' Spirit of Discovery cruise ship in the waters off the west coast of France due to a storm, with 5 of them suffering serious injuries. 

After canceling the stop at Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, the ship attempted to head for the port of La Coruna. 

However, adverse weather conditions forced the crew to make the decision to return to Britain early. After that the 14-day journey was interrupted.

"It was scary," passengers said. 

The ship, which was carrying 980 people, with an average age of 75, tilted causing the safety system to activate.
