Elidon Çela, the owner and bus driver of the "Buon Aventura" transport company that was caught with 522,000 undeclared euros in the vehicle, says that the money was his family's savings.
In the testimony given to the investigative group, Çela stated that no one knew about the money he had on the bus, as he was afraid that it might be robbed. The young man says that with that money he would rent land and invest in planting wheat, as he had also bought the seed in Italy.
" The goods belong to emigrants who live in Italy, I declared them at the Bari customs. No one knew about the money I had on the bus, I was afraid of a possible robbery. The money is my family's savings, I would invest in the land I want renting for business ," said Çela.
Çela was arrested at the Port of Durrës, while returning from Bari, Italy. His two assistants, Dritan Kamberi and Anold Cankja, were also handcuffed with him.
The three are expected to be familiar with the security measure today. Until now, it has been learned that the Prosecutor's Office has requested a ' compulsion to appear ' for the two assistants, while the Prosecutor's claim has not yet been granted for Çela.
