Donald Trump won another presidential race among the Republicans held on Saturday, moving closer to the nomination as the candidate of this party in the November elections.

The former president won the elections in Missouri, Michigan and Idaho with clear results in his favor. His last remaining rival in the race, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, is still looking for her first win. The 77-year-old Trump did not hide his delight in front of supporters at a rally in Virginia when he said it was "like a rocket for the Republican nomination".

He is expected to clinch the nomination next week after the Missouri and Idaho elections. So far, Trump has secured 247 Republican delegates to Haley's 24. In his meetings, Trump continues his accusations against President Biden, whom he calls incapable of running the White House.

A New York Times and Siena poll released Saturday found that 48% of American voters would back Trump in a face-off with Biden, compared to 43% for the incumbent. According to the poll, dissatisfaction with President Biden is at high levels from both camps. March 5 is considered the biggest day of primary elections, when voting will take place in 15 states.
