US President Donald Trump has been furious after China warmly welcomed authoritarian leaders Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un to a grand military parade in Beijing.
In a harsh reaction on his social network "Truth Social", Trump addressed an ironic message to Chinese President Xi Jinping:
"Please give Putin and Kim Jong Un a warm welcome as you plot against the United States of America."
This event seems like a direct blow to President Trump and shows the failure of his attempts to influence authoritarian leaders through personal relationships and the "art of the deal."
His meetings with Putin and Kim have not yielded concrete results, the war in Ukraine is escalating, and North Korea has more nuclear weapons than before.
Trump also emphasized that many Americans lost their lives fighting against Imperial Japan during World War II and called for them to be honored for their courage and sacrifice.
China's celebrations come at a tense global moment, as the country is exploiting the instability of Trump's foreign policy to strengthen its influence and create new alliances that challenge American dominance.
Although some experts emphasize that cooperation between China, Russia, and North Korea is not yet a true military alliance like NATO, the gathering of these authoritarian leaders is a clear signal of defiance to the West.
A senior US Air Force commander said the US will not be deterred by these "political spectacles", adding:
“We will not stop.”
However, President Trump's decisions during the first months of his second term are accelerating a shift in global power to the East. His nationalist policies, rifts with allies, and weakening of international aid programs are pushing other countries to move closer to China.
Ironically, the force that is harming the West the most is the President of the United States himself - the country that for decades has been the guarantor of freedom and democracy in the world./ CNN
