A 52-year-old actor died in a skydiving accident while filming an action movie. The tragedy occurred in Spain, near La Villa de Don Fadrique, a town in the province of Toledo, at around 9:15 a.m. today, April 1.
According to initial reports, he parachuted to film a scene, but the parachute nevertheless "did not open" and the man died from the impact.
Despite the timely intervention of rescue teams, nothing more could be done for him, local authorities said.
Production companies Atresmedia Cine and Mod Producciones issued a press statement specifying that the deceased professional was named Carlos Suarez.
He was filming the upcoming film "La Fiera", with several actors involved in the same scene. It is not known why the parachute did not open, it will be necessary to understand whether there was a malfunction in the safety system or if it was human error.
Suarez was known for extreme sports such as skydiving, mountaineering and others.
