A woman has died and five other people have been injured in an armed attack that occurred this afternoon at a cafe in the Višnjička Banja neighborhood of Belgrade.

The incident occurred around 2:00 PM and caused great panic among citizens.

According to eyewitnesses, an armed man arrived at the scene in a white van near the bar, approached from the rear and entered the cafe, where he began shooting.

"Four or five shots were heard. Immediately followed by screams, chaos and people started running in all directions. It was total chaos," a witness, who was near the scene, told the Kurir newspaper.

Witnesses report that the aggressor was extremely angry when he entered the bar.

"Before he started shooting, we heard him screaming, he was very nervous. Then he started shooting with a gun, indiscriminately. After the attack, the suspected perpetrator got into the van and quickly left," added a mechanic, nearby.

According to official sources, the following people were injured in the armed attack:

VD (51 years old) – in serious condition, is in the intensive care unit.
M. Lj. (42) – suffered a bullet wound to the lower left leg.
AO (59) – was shot in the left thigh.
NN (33) and LD (29) – received wounds to the leg and back of the body.
Unfortunately, a woman, who was sitting near the entrance to the bar, died on the spot. Her identity has not yet been made public.

Screams and screams were heard at the scene, while several windows were broken - both of the bar and of several cars parked nearby.
