The leader of France's far-right National Rally party, Jordan Bardella, is the leading candidate in the first round of the 2027 presidential election, according to a poll by Verian for L'Hémicycle magazine published on Friday.
Bardella would easily win the first round of the elections if they were held now, with 35.5% to 36.5% of the vote, maintaining a strong lead over the next two candidates.
The percentages of the other two candidates, former right-wing Prime Minister Edouard Philippe 16.5%-17% and the leader of the left-wing Place publique party, Raphael Glicksmann 11.5%-13%.
Very close, the leader of the radical left party La France insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, has 11%-12% of the vote, followed by the leader of the Republicans Bruno Rétaglio (7.5%) and the leader of the Ecologiques, Marine Tondelier (5%).
It is worth noting that Bardella is at the top of the preferences of all age groups.
One of the risks of the election will be the shift of voters for President Emmanuel Macron, who will not be able to run. According to this poll, 52% of them would vote for Edouard Philippe in the first round and 20% for Raphael Glickman.
The poll was conducted online between November 18-20 among a representative sample of 1,000 French people aged 18 and over. The margin of error is between 1.4-3.2%.
