A powerful explosion was heard this evening in the village of Varaga in Zubin Potok.

The news was confirmed by the deputy director of the Kosovo police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, who said that the Ibër-Lepenci water channel was damaged by the explosion.

"Yes, an explosion was heard in the water channel and the police teams are working to solve the case as soon as possible", said Elshani.

The Kosovo Police announced during the day that they have increased security measures in the country.

This was done in order to increase public safety and prevent incidents of various natures, including in the north of the country, where several serious criminal attacks/incidents have occurred in recent days, the authorities in Kosovo announced earlier.
