Kosovo Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia spoke about Serbian military bases that are located along the border with Kosovo, which he says are a permanent danger.

Asked in a television interview why Kosovo failed to convince internationals to punish Serbia for the terrorist attack in Banjska, Ejup Macedonia said it was about a "political calculation of partners".

According to Macedonia, the lack of harsh punishment for Serbia by the EU and the US has been a tactical move to enable the continuation of the dialogue.

"I think that all international partners are convinced that apart from this terrorist group, they had the intention of partitioning and annexing part of the territory of our country, it also had links to serbia's state structures. This is what those who have stated in more detail about the Banjska case have said this. I think there was a political calculation made by the international community in this case. Some of our partners have considered developing a softer policy with respect to Serbia in this situation, perhaps from their perspective to enable the continuation of the dialogue" said Macedonia.

Kosovo Defense Minister Ejup Macedonia also spoke about Serbian military bases located along the border with Kosovo, which he says are a permanent danger.

He said that three of the four Serbian infantry brigades are deployed at these bases, not far from Kosovo territory, and added that their tactical distribution indicates that they are waiting for the right moment to carry out an attack.

"48 Serbian army bases exist along the border. They are within a distance of 300 m to 5 km within the Serbian border. They pose a threat. The bases are hostilely directed towards Kosovo territory and are three of the four Serbian infantry brigades located in southern Serbia. These are within a short distance from Kosovo. These three brigades support 48 operational bases. These bases are located in places where an invasiveness is expected. These bases are expected to be a good time for Serbia to carry out military action or support an attack like the Banjska one. There were 4,000 troops in these bases, equipped with weapons and tools for military attacks," Macedonia said.
