The secrets of the Epstein dossier

The US Department of Justice has released a portion of Jeffrey Epstein's massive dossier, including messages and emails related to well-known figures such as Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Kimbal Musk.

The documents were published more than a month after the legal deadline of December 19, 2025, and are part of an archive of several million pages.

According to a leaked email, Epstein claims that Bill Gates sought help to hide a sexually transmitted disease from his wife, Melinda, after having intimate relationships with Russian girls. A representative for Gates called the claim “completely untrue and absurd” and stressed that the documents only show Epstein’s frustration with the lack of an ongoing relationship with Gates and his efforts to discredit him.

The documents also show Elon Musk's communications with Epstein over the years, even after the latter's conviction in 2008 for acts of prostitution with minors.

In December 2012, Musk wrote that he wanted to attend a party in St. Barts or another place and Epstein responded by mentioning his private area.

A year later, Musk again inquired about a possible visit to the island, but Epstein canceled the visit, saying he would be staying in New York. Musk has previously claimed that he did not know Epstein well and had only been to his Manhattan home once.

Even Kimbal Musk, Elon's brother, appears to have exchanged emails with Epstein and his associate, Boris Nikolic, in 2012.

In one message, Kimbal thanked him for introducing him to a woman named Jennifer and warned him to take care of her, as Epstein was very "protective" of his daughters and friends.

Among those mentioned in the dossier is Howard Lutnick, US Secretary of Commerce.

Emails show he discussed the possibility of a lunch on Epstein's Caribbean island, but a Commerce Department representative said Lutnick had only had brief contact with Epstein in the presence of his wife and had not been charged with any criminal offense.

The release of these documents has brought back attention to Epstein's network of contacts with powerful and wealthy figures, adding to debates about how the Trump administration managed the dossier and about the content that still remains hidden from the public.
