Russia has responded to Britain's readiness to send long-range missiles to Ukraine with the threat of a military response.
The British Secretary of Defense, Ben Wallace, announced that Ukraine will be given "Storm Shadow" missiles, for which there are reports that they have already reached their destination, reports Sky News.
Donating these weapons systems gives Ukraine the best chance to defend itself against Russia's continued brutality, particularly the deliberate targeting of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, which is in violation of international law. Ukraine has the right to be able to defend itself.
Moscow retaliated, stating that this measure requires an "adequate response from our military".
The Storm Shadow is a long-range, air-launched missile developed by British Aerospace and a French company. The missile carries a 450 kg conventional warhead with a range of up to 200 miles (300 km).
Ukraine has long sought long-range missiles, but the US and other countries have been hesitant, fearing that attacks inside Russia could lead to escalation.
