Russia and Ukraine exchange hundreds of prisoners of war

Russia and Ukraine announced on Monday that they exchanged several hundred prisoners.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the two countries released 150 prisoners of war each.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine managed to bring home 189 prisoners of war in the latest prisoner swap with Russia.

Russian authorities say the prisoners have been released on belarusian territory from where they will be transferred to Russia.

On Telegram, President Zelensky posted pictures of Ukrainian prisoners, some of them smiling as they unfurled the Ukrainian flag or kissed it.

Russia and Ukraine announced that the Uae mediated between the two sides.
