The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced that from this month pensions will increase by 20 percent.
Meanwhile, from January of the coming year, pensions will increase by the same percentage for the categories defined by the Law on war categories.
In a press conference, the head of government has indicated which pensions will increase.
"From this month, i.e. from October, the basic age pension, full and partial contribution pension, disability pension for children and adults, pension for blind people, pension for non-paraplegic people will increase by 20 percent and quadriplegic, family pension, work disability pension and early retirement for the workers of Trepça".
The Prime Minister has indicated that there will be an increase in pensions for the war categories as well, but from January because he said that the table that is part of the law as an appendix should be changed.
"From January 2025, the pensions defined by the Law on Categories of War will increase by 20 percent, namely the families of martyrs, invalids, veterans, members of the KLA, victims of war sexual violence, civilian victims and their family members , this is for the reason that for the change of these pensions, the table that is part of the law as an appendix must also be changed".
However, the prime minister has indicated that in these categories for the families of the martyrs of the KLA and the missing of the KLA who have more than one martyr or missing, the pension formula will also be changed, increasing it by 50 per percent of the basic pension for every martyr or other missing person who has a family and not, as he explained, to increase by 20 percent or 10 percent as it has been until now.
"The same formula will be used for the families of victims and missing civilians, where for every other victim or missing person in the family, the pension will be increased by 50 percent of the basic pension", announced Prime Minister Kurti at the conference.
