United States President Donald Trump has signed a presidential pardon for former FBI agent Mark Rossini, known as a close friend and associate of former senior FBI official Charles McGonigal.

Rossini's pardon is included in the official list updated by the Office of the Pardon Attorney at the US Department of Justice, which confirms a new wave of pardons granted by Trump since his return to office.

According to official reports, Trump has also pardoned former Puerto Rico governor Wanda Vázquez Garced, accused in a federal case of corruption and bribery related to the financing of her 2020 election campaign. 

The same decision also included two other defendants, businessman Julio Martín Herrera Velutini and Mark Rossini.

A White House official has confirmed that President Trump considers this case "an example of political prosecution," arguing that the charges against the pardoned were politically motivated and not based on impartial justice.

Mark Rossini was previously an FBI agent and has been mentioned in the American media for his close ties to Charles McGonigal, former director of counterintelligence at the FBI, convicted in another case that has raised concerns about the integrity of American security structures.
