A moment of passion ended in tragedy for a Brazilian couple when the car they were in fell off a cliff, killing them both.

Adriana Ribeiro , 42, and her partner, Marcone Cardozo , 26, had returned from a party in the town of Venta Nova do Imigrante and had parked in a popular panoramic spot.

There, they allegedly decided to have sex in their car.

According to authorities, it is suspected that due to their movements, the vehicle moved and fell off the cliff, despite the fact that the handbrake was active.

The car fell 100 meters before hitting a cliff and ejecting the bodies of the couple, who were found naked at the foot of the mountain.

The accident happened around 1am last Monday, but the car was spotted at 7am by a security guard.

Detective Alberto Roque Perez said there was no evidence of criminal activity and that the vehicle's movement was likely caused by the couple.

Residents in the area reported hearing a loud noise between 1:30 and 2:00 a.m., but due to the darkness and dense vegetation they could not see anything.

Thiago Amorim, a hang gliding platform operator, described the scene as shocking, saying the machine had been torn to pieces after hitting the rock.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene found the man at the foot of the cliff, while to find the woman they had to open a path through dense vegetation.

The area is characterized by very steep terrain, with rocks at the top and dense forest at the bottom.
