One million Palestinians who have survived siege, evictions and starvation are expected to be expelled again from Gaza City, the main city of the Gaza Strip.

According to military officials close to the Israeli government, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan for a gradual and total occupation of the territory will start from Gaza City in the north and then spread to refugee camps in the central areas.

The operation envisages two phases: first, ordering the evacuation of the population from Gaza City, where half of the residents still live, and then the creation of "humanitarian camps" with hospitals and tents to house the displaced.

However, it remains unclear where these camps could be built, as the rest of the Strip is overcrowded and devastated by war.

The United States, although it opposes the annexation of Gaza, has given Israel a free hand for military operations and has promised $1 billion in funding to expand humanitarian aid distribution points in the territory, from 4 currently to 16 within a few months.

After evacuating Northern Gaza, the Israeli army plans a second offensive in the central areas to displace the population further south and implement the "voluntary migration" demanded by far-right politicians.

This includes the still partially unoccupied city of Deir el-Balah, where hostages are suspected, significantly increasing the risk to civilians.

The new war could last 4-5 months and will involve 4-5 divisions of the Israeli army, with around 60,000 soldiers engaged, a battle that senior officials warn is a "Vietnam" for Israel due to the risk of heavy casualties and the risk to the lives of hostages.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty sharply criticized the silence of Western countries, calling the tragedy in Gaza "a stain on the conscience of the international community."
