Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was planning an offensive to completely occupy Gaza, but there have been some disagreements within the government and with military leaders, according to data from 'The Guardian' and 'Haaretz'.
An Israeli security cabinet meeting to discuss Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's order for a "full occupation" of Gaza was scheduled for today but has been postponed to Thursday due to growing tensions over the feasibility of the plan.
Also, senior military officials and former top commanders have warned that the plan would endanger the lives of Israeli hostages still held by Hamas, and that the operation could cause greater international isolation for Israel, as well as force Israeli soldiers to confront a population where Hamas fighters would still be present.
Among the "opponents" is the head of the army (IDF), Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir.
Various sources report to the media in question that Zamir is against Netanyahu's plan, but that he will not give it if the plan is approved.
