Pope Leo XIV: There is hope, but there is still a lot of work to be done

"There is hope, we still have to work hard, pray a lot and find a way forward."

This is how Pope Leo XIV responded to journalists, as he left Villa Barberini in Castel Gandolfo to return to the Vatican after a few days off, regarding the progress of peace negotiations in Ukraine.

Do you hear from world leaders? Do you hear from Donald Trump?

"From time to time I hear from one of them," he replied, "constantly," he added.

"We have to move forward."
