The Israeli military has launched a bombing campaign in the Gaza Strip, targeting what it says are targets under the control of Hamas.

Dozens of high-rise buildings were flattened, while the central bank, the university and a high school did not escape the high-precision rocket strikes.

The Israeli forces say that there were no civilians in these buildings during the bombing, but they were used as a base by Hamas terrorists.

However, social networks have published dramatic images of the bombings in Gaza, where the streets are filled with victims, many of whom are believed to be civilians.

In most cases, the Israeli army has used a rocket that penetrates the floors of buildings and explodes in the foundations, causing the entire building to collapse. Israeli authorities say they have notified the civilian population to leave buildings minutes before each attack.
