A high exponent of the Greek mafia was executed on Saturday evening by still unknown persons in the center of Athens.
Over 80 bullets were fired at 44-year-old Vangjelis Zabunis by at least 3 people, in an assassination attempt that shocked the entire Greek public opinion due to the brutality of the execution.
The Greek media have published footage from the first moments after the murder, where the Greek mob boss is seen killed in his car.
Vangjelis Zabunis was one of the most important exponents of the Greek mafia. In 2018, he escaped an assassination attempt only after the perpetrator's gun was blocked.
Zubunis had been arrested several times and was at the top of the list of suspects for several attacks on other gangs. He was involved in smuggling fuel, alcoholic beverages and fines.
The police declare that Vagjeli Zubunis was executed by hired killers, as they surrounded a large part of the capital in order to identify and capture them.
