The house of the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, in San Francisco, was "violently attacked" in the early hours of this Friday morning. As a result of the attack, Nancy's husband, Paul Pelosi, was injured.
He is in the hospital to receive medical help, while his life is out of danger.
Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Nancy Pelosi, said that the attacker is in custody and is being investigated to clarify the motives of the event.
Pelosi's spokesman said her husband, 82, was receiving medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery. Hammill said Nancy Pelosi was not in San Francisco at the time of the attack.
"Pelosi and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved and request privacy at this time," Hammill said.
