US consulate in Dubai attacked with drone

Smoke is seen rising from an area near the US consulate in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Reuters news agency reports, citing witnesses.

Earlier, the US embassy was attacked in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh. Damage was reported, but no casualties.

Iran continues to target American interests in the Middle East after Israel and the United States launched deadly attacks on Saturday.

Dubai's media office says no injuries have been reported after a 'drone-related incident' around the US consulate.

"Dubai authorities have confirmed that a fire resulting from a drone-related incident near the US Consulate has been successfully brought under control," the media office said in a post on social media.

"Emergency crews responded immediately. No injuries were reported."
