Kosovo's Interior Minister, Xhelal Sveçla, has revealed the first phone call he received after the terrorist attack in Banjska, Kosovo.
In an interview with moderator Grida Duma on the show "Top Story", Zveçla also recounted details about how the paramilitary group of Serbs led by Milan Radoicic was trained at military bases inside Serbia.
Excerpt from the interview:
Xhelal Sveçla: It was just before 3:00 and the regional director of the Kosovo police called me and informed me that we had killed...
Grida Duma: How did you say, "minister, they killed me"?
Svečla: He told me 'they killed us' that we had information that these terrorists were being trained in Serbian army barracks in Serbia and of course in the wake of several previous attacks it was very bad news...
Duma: Did you know that at the border they were training at a training ground?
Svečla: Yes, in several polygons, in Kopaonik where Radoić has his own hotel., then in Skevilade which is deep in Serbia, which is a compound of the Serbian army and they were trained by professional military personnel with Serbian equipment and weapons. Perhaps it is worth mentioning that the convicted American soldiers of the Serbian army were also seen and they made donations for terrorist purposes.
Duma: This is an old house where ammunition was found...
Sveçla: I was a witness here when we found hand-held rocket launchers
Duma: How much more or less?
Sveçla: A lot. Here too, and everywhere.
Duma: Was there enough weaponry to penetrate as far north as possible?
Sveçla: To reach Mitrovica with the element of surprise. At the beginning of this battle, they had multiple advantages, they had the terrain since our police were below.
