Fresh from her victory in Italy's election, Giorgia Meloni is deciding who will take the top posts in the right-wing government she is expected to lead.
The leader of the far-right "Brothers of Italy" party has stayed out of the spotlight since her election victory, when she promised to govern for all Italians.
The question is who will fill the key seats and whether they will go to other parties in her right-wing alliance.
Matteo Salvini, as an example, covets the Ministry of the Interior.
The head of the far-right League had this task in 2019, when he stopped rescue ships carrying migrants from entering Italian ports.
Meloni has also promised a tough response to irregular migration, but reports from Rome suggest Salvini will not lead the post.
Support for Salvini's League fell to 8.8 percent on Sunday, so he is unable to seek top office. A former League leader, Roberto Maroni, has even suggested that it is time for Salvini to leave.
Giorgia Meloni, meanwhile, has risen to new heights: she will become the country's first female prime minister at the end of next month, heading Italy's most right-wing government since World War II.
